Page Seventy
Phew! Finally, the end of this chapter! I’ll post a nifty one page epilogue next with a bit of a surprise in it.
And then it’s on to the next chapter where we will visit some old friends!

Yes. Cold-hearted, villainous words, Schtein. We love the way you spiral.
Wait, so Eliza IS his galpal? Huh. I wonder if she got a name change or if that’s her middle name or something.
either that or she might have a sister.
SUDDENLY, PLOT.
I can’t wait for the next chapter.
Also, “Schtein!” is a good word for a revengeful yell.
Armastus’s face! XD Priceless.
Why are parents-in-law always such a pain…?
I love how nonchalant Schtein is about Langstrom’s revenge. He just doesn’t fucking care anymore about it!
Has it been nearly two years on this chapter? O_o Damn.
You tell her Schtein! Her idiot brother was the reason you lost your dream girl & ruined your career. I think if anything he should’ve at least hit her. Just blowing holes in her career after he lost a kidney and was beaten up like that- I think he let her off easy.
All this discussion on revenge is well and good, but I think we should pay attention to how Schtein’s flashin’ everyone “West Side” in panel 5.
I appreciate this.
The entire thanatos family is off its rocker, huh?
Honestly … I probably would’ve slashed her throat.
Whee, end of the chapter! Yet another awesome page. If I may offer some writerly (and hopefully constructive) criticism, though, I feel like the line “That part of me is dead now” is a little too cliche, and not really necessary. I feel that just ending it with “But not anymore, my dear” would have more impact (especially followed by that pitch-perfect “Ta”), and still get the same message across. Just a thought, and the first time in, well, ever, that I’ve had any sort of crit for you. Keep up the unbelievable work!
Well, the doctor tends to be a little bit dramatic anyway. Remember that time he was quoting poetry or Shakesman or something? And the French?
Personally, I loved that. I thought it was juuust dramatic enough, or something like that. I dunno, I just think its perfect.
*bounce bounce bounce* :3 Does this mean we get to see how those others are doing? More importantly a certain girl? C: ?
Also, love how you tossed in the “my dear” thing thre. Nice. The Warden’s really lucky to be walking away from this one… or is she? >u> hmmm… Will we be seeing her again?
If I recall correctly, the theme of this world was post apocalypse but 40s and 50s style. I apologize if that’s not the case, but it’s been a long time since we we’re out of this prison and I can’t trawl the entire archives right now. But Abel definitely embodies that style, more so than anyone else we’ve seen.
Panel 7: Too busy gloating to look where he’s going, Doc trips over the incapacitated guard, then hurries on, pretending like nothing happened.
phew, they made it out okay! Lovely ending. (I’m going to miss those awesome trucks in the background though :c )
I’m in love with the fifth panel.
Haha! Thanatos WAS Phin’s father-in-law. I knew it!
PERFECT. I especially LOVE the textures in the backgrounds of every panel, and the moon in the last shot there is fantastic. This is a very fulfilling end of chapter.
Is Schtein becoming a bad-ass? Great work bye the way comrade.
So… Do we get to see him in his super villain outfit soon? * W *
I just decided that this webcomic is going to go down in history as one of the greats.
I can see this rising above even the ranks of Problem Sleuth, Inverloch and Kid Radd… You know what? I can see it becoming better than my favourite currently-running webcomics, even Goblins and Homestuck.
High hopes, man. I know it’s been going for a good amount of time already, but I feel like it’s only scratched the surface of plot and character awesomeness that is going to happen throughout the next few years (however long it goes for, if it is ever supposed to terminate).
GOOD JOB, Liz, making Schtein into the very monster you thought him to already be! Want a drink to go with that HUMBLE PIE?
Is that “Ta!” a reference to the first appearance of creepy smoke tentacles, or is that just coincidence?
Oh, haha, I forgot I did that, so obviously no. That’s pretty funny, though. Let’s pretend it’s on purpose.
Really I think it just kind of a jerky way to say goodbye.
Nope, just a shortened “ta-ta”. A traditional goodbye.
Oh Schtein… That’s cruel. Letting her know you actually cared once.
“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn. Later bitch”
So now we know who the wife of Armastus is. Awesome. Was not expecting that.
And the Symbolism. When Doc was forced into prison he lost his gloves and felt bad. And now he is leaving and gets his gloves back right when he stops caring.
..Did anyone else read the last two panels with him having a British accent (ie “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn!”) or was that just me? As for the whole thing with “that part of me is dead now” line I personally think it could have gone either way. It works how it is, but could do so without as well. All in all the last two panels are just epic. :D
I think it’s so wonderful what you’re doing with Schtein, How you’re changing his character slowly over time, still deep down he’s him, but he’s clearly going to a darker place :) Your comic is one of the best ones out there, I’d say <3
The way you draw Schtein reminds me so much of my High school biology teacher, his nose, how he shows his teeth sometimes when he talks (notably the last panel of the previous page), his white hair. And yet, my teacher was a religious brother. The irony.
What’s this I see? An awesome comic, and it’s NOT dead?
This is a happy day. A happy day indeed.
Eee, so excited for the next chapter, as usual :D
Wow. A fabulous chapter end.
Secretly thought that the Doctor was flipping Lady Langstrom off in the last panel until I looked closer. I’m just going to pretend that this is what he did and throw evidence to the contrary to the wind!
Second to last panel, beautiful
