Thanks! I think it started out trying to be burning film or something, but ended up looking like mud. Either way, it looks neat, and it’s not me using the same background fills over and over. Yay!
I must be one of those fetish chicks that the others were talking about on the previous page because… Those eyes are really starting to turn me on.
Love the orange/purple/grey-ish lighting btw. Also, if you turn your head upside down at the second and fourth panels, it looks like Schtein has spiked up hair! :D
His name’s Colonel Rutherford Q. Buttons, but we just call him Buttons or The Colonel. Mostly I seem to just call him ‘kitty’ actually.
He’s getting better about not trying to eat all my electrical cords now, so I don’t have to watch him as closely as I did the first couple of days. We sort of impulse-bought a cat. Didn’t mean for it to interupt my work.
Aw, I love that smile in panel 7. I haven’t seen an expression quite that giddy on Hervy’s face since Delia told him that she kinda sorta maybe had somewhat of a little crush at on point on him.
C’mon, Jacob. You know you can’t lie to those eyes.
Schtein shouldn’t look adorable to me in that first panel, fff. I adore how you put as much effort into the backgrounds as you do the characters, if not more. It seems rare that people do that. That or I have no luck with finding amazing artwork, haha. The line about being too handsome=the best ever.
A lot of webcomics seems to be drawn more like newspaper comics, so they’re not going to put that much effort into it, I guess. Personally, I love art where people go the extra mile and try to be all detail orientated. So I strive for that myself. I’m glad you like my efforts at it. :)
God I just LOVE his eyes in this. They had to be sooo fun to color :D they stand out wonderfully. His hair in the fifth, sixth and seventh also make him look really young xD ….
thanks. Actually they don’t take very long to do, so I dunno if they’re fun or not. The funnest parts for me usually involve drawing hands, gestures, facial expressions, and making stuff look gross.
Again a page where nobody moves around a lot and still with so much life in it. Beckey, the way you work with gestures adds so much to the comic! The intensity of each pose and use of hands makes your characters come alive. Just… great!
I love this page! Especially the wavy speech bubble around ‘murder’. I can just HEAR the overly-dramatic tone of voice he’s using. And those eyes, of course; the glow-effect is fantastic! I envy your mad lighting skills. Uh, word. :D
Hahah thanks. You know, for some reason in my mind, when I was drawing out the bubble around murder I just keep hearing that Simpsons character, Sideshow Bob, saying ‘murder’. All drawn out and creepy. Which is nuts, because that isn’t my mental voice for Herv at all.
Nice to see a new side of Schtein. Now that he hasn’t his head full of work issues or booze, he can actually remember peoples names and even be quite playful, in his aggressive jerk manner we all love, of course.
I could see this Herville very compatible with, even optimal for Delia. Such a shame his in prison for life ;-)
Gosh, that last comment made me flash wildly through a bunch of dramatic scenarios on what that encounter would be like. I have a bunch of ideas, but the truth will be something to behold.
I can’t wait till Doc has to tell jacob what he did to get in here! Oh man, how many people did he kill? and he was found out because he forgot about the camras!@!
Oh man this is great!
The more I read this comic, the more I love it! You’re characters are entertaining and fleshed out – and I love how much your drawing emote!
Every time you update it become the highlight of my day! XD
Because of your UTTER MASTERY OF COLORING, I was disappointed in Panel 2 and Panel 4. Something about them just doesn’t work right. It might be the solid boundary between the black shadow on his face, and the rest of his head. It’s mainly the shading of his head that leaves me unsatisfied.
Not sure if the white panel is the best solution. You seem to be trying to break up the color scheme of the rest of the page, but it kinda takes us out of the atmosphere. I dunno. It also works. The only thing that really bugs me is Panels 2 and 4.
Panel 5, on the other hand, is ORGASMICALLY GOOD. I love those swirly thingies! What a beautiful job!
The pinkish-orange light in all the panels is great.
the white panel made sense to me because like us, the doc is also being taken out of the atmosphere for a moment. Like he’s interupting his own train of thought.
I’ve just read through this webcomic and I have to say it is pretty damn awesome :)
I’m kinda in love with Dr Schtein, despite all his creepy antisocialness. The dialogue and expressions are gold.
His eyes in the second and fourth panel almost look like a tv right after you’ve turned it off in a dark room. There’s still some ambient inner light coming from the tube inside, so it glows slightly.
I love his eyes, but trying to figure out how they work has become my new favorite brainteaser. If I was making those eyes, and I was working on the iris part, I think I’d want them to glow. Better visibility and all.
With all the constant little constrictive or expanding movements, I bet the iris portion uses a lot of energy. It could be the red glow is a by-product of the energy used?
…
Either way, Jacob made a smart move there, sleeping on his stomach. He’d probably have a heart attack if he looked up just then.
“Jacob, how could you!”
Hehehe.
Nice shadows and backgrounds. You get better at this every update.
Holy poop. First comment anyone?
LOL Riiiighhttt Gosh, can’t believe I stalked long enough to be the next commenter! :D GO ME!
Child pornography… XD
Oh Schtein you’re such an ass…
I adore the shadows and the effects you use <3 And Schtein's face in the second to last panel.
I love the gooey, bubbly effect in panel 5!
Thanks! I think it started out trying to be burning film or something, but ended up looking like mud. Either way, it looks neat, and it’s not me using the same background fills over and over. Yay!
The eyes are REALLY getting to me in this one! :D
Great job, keep it up!
Man, those eyes finally have their moment to shine.
Get it?!
*rimshot*
I must be one of those fetish chicks that the others were talking about on the previous page because… Those eyes are really starting to turn me on.
Love the orange/purple/grey-ish lighting btw. Also, if you turn your head upside down at the second and fourth panels, it looks like Schtein has spiked up hair! :D
Nothing wrong with fetish chicks! Whatever that means, hahah. :D
The eyes they follow me. I Love This Comic. Awesome job. Go number 9
Gosh, it was worth the wait. What is the name of the evil kitten that stopped me from seeing this?!?
Tell me where they live so I can throw eggs at their house. Well throw that gooey nasty looking crap in panel 5 at them!
Don’t throw eggs at my house. >:|
His name’s Colonel Rutherford Q. Buttons, but we just call him Buttons or The Colonel. Mostly I seem to just call him ‘kitty’ actually.

Does the Q. stand for anything or is it just like Harry S. Truman, and it’s just there.
It’s like a cartoon character’s middle name. Never defined.
Aw, I love that smile in panel 7. I haven’t seen an expression quite that giddy on Hervy’s face since Delia told him that she kinda sorta maybe had somewhat of a little crush at on point on him.
C’mon, Jacob. You know you can’t lie to those eyes.
Yeah, he seems to be feeling a lot better since he went dry. And nothing makes him more giddy than torturing people!
Schtein shouldn’t look adorable to me in that first panel, fff. I adore how you put as much effort into the backgrounds as you do the characters, if not more. It seems rare that people do that. “jacob! how could you?” ahahaha those are the best
God I just LOVE his eyes in this. They had to be sooo fun to color :D they stand out wonderfully. His hair in the fifth, sixth and seventh also make him look really young xD ….
…..It’s a bit cute <<
thanks. Actually they don’t take very long to do, so I dunno if they’re fun or not. The funnest parts for me usually involve drawing hands, gestures, facial expressions, and making stuff look gross.
Hahahaha! Good method of interrogation – annoying him until he just gives in!
totally. awesome.
epiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic!!!!!!!!!
Again a page where nobody moves around a lot and still with so much life in it. Beckey, the way you work with gestures adds so much to the comic! The intensity of each pose and use of hands makes your characters come alive. Just… great!
Wow, thanks. I like to draw gestures. It’s probably the most enjoyable part of the work.
I love this page! Especially the wavy speech bubble around ‘murder’. I can just HEAR the overly-dramatic tone of voice he’s using. And those eyes, of course; the glow-effect is fantastic! I envy your mad lighting skills. Uh, word. :D

Oh my goodness, he is SO cute on this page. Which is remarkable, since he’s kind of an ass. (And that’s why he’s a good character!)
Seriously though, look at that second panel!
He’s a loveable jerk! Oh no, I think that’s the basis for a lot of webcomic characters. D:
Nice to see a new side of Schtein. Now that he hasn’t his head full of work issues or booze, he can actually remember peoples names and even be quite playful, in his aggressive jerk manner we all love, of course.
I could see this Herville very compatible with, even optimal for Delia. Such a shame his in prison for life ;-)
He’s usually so bad with names. Unless he remembers them specifically because the other character asked him not to call them that.
At this rate Delia won’t even recognize him when she sees him again.
I haven’t commented before, but I really LOVE Schtein’s eyes in the last few chapters. The super subtle glow is just cool :)
Oh man this is great!
The more I read this comic, the more I love it! You’re characters are entertaining and fleshed out – and I love how much your drawing emote!
Every time you update it become the highlight of my day! XD
So… Jacob. I herd u liek mudkipz.
That’s what it made me think of, because I always say that to my sister. Except with rudkipz.
And I like all of the things that Schtein comes up with. And the background in panel five. It makes me think of something like whipped cream. Mmm.
Worst. Roommate. Ever.
But it’s funny since it’s not happening to me!
Hahaha. I think this has become my favorite page so far.
Gfffff! Haha Schtein.
Schtein, I believe I know the type of people who would like you.
Sadly, I do not think you’d like them.
Oh this is magical
Dr. Schtein cannot see Jacob as the murdering type. He can only see him as the pervert crime type.
easiest way under a man’s skin! Accuse them of pervert crimes! (Also I am in love with this phrase and stealing it forever)
FFFFFTTTTTT I love you and your ways Dr Schtein ♥
Forget about that Osgood or whatever girl, you can marry me~!
Ze eyes, zey are glowink!
That’s what I call fan service! :-P
Really? And not that whole page I drew where he was naked? Man, I can do better than this! >:D
Oh my goodness Schtein’s flow of expressions is AMAZING.
Also he looks so good with his hair all messed up.
“I’ll have to assume the worst. Mail fraud?”
Your coloring has been SO AMAZING and SO PERFECT.

Ooo! Brilliant!
Panels 2 and 4 would be made out of Pure Incredible Awesome if the shading was tweaked a little.
He looks awesome with his hair all messy like that =D
And I love this whole page, his expression is cute in every panel XD
I’ve just read through this webcomic and I have to say it is pretty damn awesome :)
I’m kinda in love with Dr Schtein, despite all his creepy antisocialness. The dialogue and expressions are gold.
You know what would make the white panel perfect? Putting dramatic shading on Schtein that includes more solid black.
Hehehe.
OMG, Schtein… ! Poor Jacob!
These past pages have been full of so much awesome art. *swoon* I should point that out more often!
His eyes in the second and fourth panel almost look like a tv right after you’ve turned it off in a dark room. There’s still some ambient inner light coming from the tube inside, so it glows slightly.

You have that glow effect down pat! One of my favourite pages, colour-wise.
