Nice looks of disgust and dismay! I think the goo panels are really distracting (less saturation would help?) but your artistic experimentation is always fun to be part of.
That’s exactly the reason why I like this page! The goo borders make it so overwhelmingly ick that when you can summon up the courage to read the panels it just adds to the whole “holy crap that’s gross” effect. It’s fantastic!
Ah. This was right before that comic strip where Schtein sees Osgood on TV.
Where was that… Ah, Chapter 3, Page 43. So… after the approximate time it takes to gather the resources for, assemble, place and detonate six pipebombs, Delia’s timeline will be roughly caught up with Schtein’s…
oh shit, I’ve been replying to these comments form the bottom of the page up and I stole your joke accidentally, haha. Either we’re just thinkin’ the same or I remembered it from when it was emailed to me yesterday.
The impact of the first (amazingly drawn) panel is totally lost on me as my eye cannot tear itself away from the hugely distracting gunge frame. I would love to see this page without the between the panels goo, just to see how it reads and looks in comparison.
I’m not gonna upload it anywhere without it. It’s part of the page. Besides I don’t think the impact of the gross bank would be as impressive without it overpowering the page like this.
Lighting in panel 1 seems off: note the shadows on the pillars near the back. But the light from the door doesn’t follow that pattern, nor do we see some chording from the venetian blinds on the floor/characters?
but there’s overhead lights. They’re inside so the overhead lights are stronger than the lights from outside. maybe less glowy stuff I guess but goodness I cannot be stopped there
Not asking you to stop there, but just consider what will force additional suspension of disbelief. Even if overhead lights are stronger than outside (seems unlikely next to the obviously glowing door and bright notes on the blinds), combinations of light sources lend themselves to their own patterns…
I don’t see how that’s a suspension of disbelief issue. You go into any business and the inside light is stronger than the outside light. In my room it’s like that, and there’s no pattern of shadows from the blinds in here. Even with my light off and all the light coming from the window there’s still no blinds pattern.
Ah, OK, sorry. You’ve obviously studied lighting professionally. I wonder if the inside lighting is so strong, why the strong shadows on the rope posts? The direction and size indicates the time of day and maybe season to me, but I’ve not got the professional chops you have.
I don’t have professional chops, you’re probably right, also. But the real solution is I need to go easy on the glow effects because I tend to go overboard with them. That way the window lighting doesn’t come across so strong causing this confusion. The thing is I just don’t want to fix it on this page because it’s not that big an issue and I’m already late with the next page and I really just have to move on. Honestly, with comics that you update once a week like this the pages are never going to be perfect and sometimes you really just have to let shit like this go, learn form it, and move on. It sorta sucks, but I very rarely bother changing things on pages unless they’re super glaring, like if someone has an extra finger or something. Fixing lighting is something that would take me like all day to do. <:C
I love it! The way to slime is in the foreground as well as in the background in the second panel, the way the slime frames the pages and just gives you an all over feeling. This slime is everywhere! Even on the boarders! :) Fantastic page!
That’s not so bad. I’ve seen worse, up close and first hand even! Those who’ve raised children will know what I’m talking about…at least this slime isn’t “party coloured” from crayola nibbling.
english is not my first language, so i first read “secreter” as someone who… keeps secrets?
a few moments later the goo and awful truth started to make sense.
I really love the goo panel lines, but the one thing that’s bugging me is that it’s not quite the same colour as the goo in the bank. It just clashes. Otherwise it’s really effective.
This page is really AWESOMEENIE.
haha oh my god I love the green goo panel lines.
indeed!

I’m with Shofet, I love the effect of the slime on the edges
Slimer, please stop going off on your own, you’re always making a mess.

Wait a minute, her nails are pink now? Magic color changing nail polish? Ahahaha but in all seriousness, this is a wonderful page! :D
oh crud, whoops. I was too tired while coloring this, thought it was a next day page for some reason.
He’s a secreter. Secreter. Not a word you hear very often. No fancy names in this line of work.
haha. Straightshootin’ Cain they call ‘im. I’m not sure what else you’d call that anyway. Also it’s a line from Red Dragon. (I really like that book)
this page brought to you by early 90’s Nickelodeon.

I get a very strong SCP vibe from that.
It’s Delia’s turn to look aghast at things
she seems more pissed off at it. Like, why do you even exist, mountains of slime?!
It’s a little jarring to not continue the split Schtein/Delia views of the last strip.
all I can do is just please ask that people wait until this sequence is over.

Diffraction wins the day again!

I for one absolutely love the slime borders
oh good, it’s kinda my favorite thing about the page so I was starting to worry I’ve got bad judgement. But hey. <:D
glad i’m not the only one who had the ghostbusters theme playing in their head when they saw this. =]
jeeze I had it going the whole time I drew it.
You know what makes ME feel good? Bustin’.
Great green greasy grimy gopher guts! That’s a whole lotta slime!!!
nickelodeon from the mid 90’s made a surprise appearance at this bank.
The slime panels are the shit and everyone else can suck it. I am constantly in awe of your creativity. You go, Glen Coco!
That poor woman in the first panel though. Looks like she’s seen some shit.
“Never, not even in my wildest imagination i would have guessed from where *The Goo* was coming out, and it didn’t stop. It didn’t stop … D: “

I’m with Delia on this one (also, I love her expressions in the last 2 panels). Personally I like the slime borders, so… Makes it ickier, I guess?
Hah! Is that one of those little chained-to-the-counter pens, all covered in gross?
Aww, yeah. Loving the goo.
That’s not so bad. I’ve seen worse, up close and first hand even! Those who’ve raised children will know what I’m talking about…at least this slime isn’t “party coloured” from crayola nibbling.

if it was the same color as in the bank it would just blend together and the page would be kind of harder to read I think. maybe.
I guess. Adds to the in-your-faceness. ewwwwwwwwwwww
what in the ghostbusters
