That third panel is fantastic… just the reaction and background together work really well.
Anyhow. Yeah. Hard to know how to feel for Krow (though maybe Drew only likes having one piece of property at a time and it was essentially selfish)… still. Nice dialogue too.
Phineas-made corpses was my first guess, too. But wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were some nudity there to greet him?
OR!!! Phineas has led Schtein straight into the arms of the warden and a bunch of guards. They offered him a huge reward, probably freedom and a fresh set of rasps.
Krow’s type is sort of easy to figure out. He’s a weakling, no strength of character to speak of at all. He’s always looking for someone to glom onto to keep him safe. Servile. Chances are, his motivation for kicking Doc was a bit of the old revenge. After all, his security was suddenly taking an interest in some new meat, and where would that leave ol’ Krow?
Only now do I go back to that page and realise Drew was holding a knife!
Darn you for attention to detail! Now it’s like I should reread this in wheres wally style… AGAIN!
Not only that, a few of the others standing around had big, noticeable facial facial scars (at least one other). Wonder what little, possible spoilers are hidden in the earlier pages…
Oh, I dunno…I pretty much LOVE Krow. Like, a lot. Damn you for creating such awesome, likeable characters all over the place. It’s starting to piss me off.
My mind is oscillating between pity and loathing like a coked-up ceiling fan–it shouldn’t even be doing that in the first place, but some asshole set the thing on its fastest setting, which shouldn’t have been made accessible to consumers anyway…
All this to say, Krow is a complicated man. Or he’s received in a complicated way. Writing at its best!
I wonder what Schtein’s voice sounds like. I have a voice in my head and it sounds an awful lot like how a stereotypical mad scientist would sound, haha.
The expressions here are great; the awkward neck-scratch in the next-to-last panel is a nice touch. The last panel is my favourite, though. The lighting there looks awesome!
I like the character development, too; Krow’s really getting some depth.
yeah like I said. I usually do the shirt and the face injury detail in the same step in my, uh… work regime. Hahah. I’ll get around to fixing this page at some point.
My theory is that he was havin’ some PTSD flashbacks and didn’t want to relive the experience by proxy.
Meanwhile, I’m still confused as to why this Aryan Brotherhood-style gang would let a guy like Krow hang with them. I mean, you know… look at the guy. But then again, I can’t exactly claim to know much about the inner dynamics of prison gangs and/or white supremacist groups.
The neo-nazi stuff is more like a ploy to make people think they are ruthless and scary and stuff very little prison gang members have an actual ideology.
sort of. It’s a ploy to gain members through neonazi ideology, not so much to make people think they are ruthless and scary. They ARE ruthless and scary. They don’t much care about the beliefs, though, if you look it up one of the founders of AB was Jewish. And I watched another documentary about a former member who was Native American. Plus I think they’re allied with the mexican mafia? Been a while since I watched a lot of docs, but pretty sure. They mostly just care about moving drugs and being scary.
Anyway, Krow’s white. Pretty much, anyway. I mean he’d mark Caucasian on anything that asked.
I think Krow was mean to Schtein as a self-protection as much as it was passing the heat along. If you can act as proxy boss, you don’t get beat up as much by anyone, including the boxx.
I CALLED that he did it to save Stein from something. I know that he did it for himself, but still.
Goddammit Krow, why can’t you just be evil so I can hate you, god!
Every page leaves me wanting more. So was Krow not wanting to be replaced? I wonder if he has another reason.
That third panel is fantastic… just the reaction and background together work really well.

That was my interpretation also. Squicky, mistrustful feelings of Krow remain intact.
I am amused how fast Schtein must be moving away from him in the last 2 panels. “Oh. Right. Uh, I don’t know what to … HEY PHINEAS WHAT’S GOING ON”
hahah, yeah he’s kinda zipping along there!
New pages are so bloody exciting and then you read it four times and then all you can really want is MORE. Oh man impatience is a cruel sonofabitch.
Wow, Krow! Not sure what to think. What was his reason then? And the colors in the backgrounds for panels 3-5 are amazing.
Oh, and in that last panel, who wants to bet that Schtein is being greeted by a bunch of newly-made corpses, courtesy of Phineas?
I’m betting on it!
Actually, Phin set up a tea party.
Silly Jade, do you really think Phin’s that awful!
I second that.
A Tea Party with the Mad Hatter more than likely!
Phineas-made corpses was my first guess, too. But wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were some nudity there to greet him?

The more and I read this comic, the more I liken Stein to Jon Stewart.
I suddenly trust Krow a lot less.

Exact response:
aahaha..ahaha…. uh….

Amazing backgrounds as always!! Man!
Oh, I dunno…I pretty much LOVE Krow. Like, a lot. Damn you for creating such awesome, likeable characters all over the place. It’s starting to piss me off.
OH THANK GOD.
I was starting to think I was the only person who liked Krow XD
Let’s start a club! I’ll get the refrigerator boxes and the duct tape!

I always read him with Mark Hamil’s Joker voice. It’s the nose.
I’m under the suspicion that he’ll turn into the medic from TF2 any minute now.
Also, did the header picture change with this update or am I just slow? He looks so happy up there. Probably because he’s being a jerk.
I changed it a week ago… but there wasn’t an update so you’re the first to notice, I guess. :D
The expressions here are great; the awkward neck-scratch in the next-to-last panel is a nice touch. The last panel is my favourite, though. The lighting there looks awesome!

Schtein’s head seems to have magically healed from the last page.
Other than that, excellent update, as usual.
oh, oops. Easy to forget details when you take a week off I guess.
and his shirt is magically clean! (I’m sorry it was bugging me. haha;;;)

actually I might be wrong about the guy being Jewish. But, it’s hard to tell from his wikipedia page. The talk page on it is a nightmare! Good lord.
poor Krow.
he wanted to be Drew’s ONLY bitch
Well, who wouldn’t? What a dreamboat~

doh, boSS!
