Chp4 Page 8
It’s okay, Gina, I don’t understand how people can not really like coffee either. It’s like their tongues are broken! :D

Someone in String Theory with straight teeth? What has this world become?!
Love it, as always. Second-to-last panel is choice. Rad job, Grundy.
Ahaha. It looks like her workplace is going to be…interesting.
Not like coffee? Blasphemy.
There’s a difference between liking coffee and drinking it often. I like coffee. However, I only drink it once every month or so. This may be the case here.
Or, she may just be one of those strange people who don’t like coffee.
Her total obnoxiousness is kinda of endearing.
As someone who also lives on coffee, I understand her reaction.
IT’S LIQUID GOLD PEOPLE WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.
I love all of the expressions. Never stop. ; H;
Well, I wouldn’t really want to drink liquid gold, either.
Agreed. If not for coffee, I would be lying in a puddle of mud by the side of the road.
Wonderful expressions and body language here, oh my GOSH.
I had no idea Delia is from London! I married a Londoner (UK reader here!) and the number one question I got to ask Delia is “You from North or Saaaf of the river luv?”
it’s been proven that coffee makes you an immortal jittery bad ass by science now. http://healthland.time.com/2012/05/16/study-finds-coffee-drinkers-live-longer/
it’s supposed to also help with depression, but I’m not sure about that! At least I haven’t found any difference.
Coffee for depression? Hell, I just sing. Works like a charm.
I like your style. Singing > coffee.
I perfectly understand Delia: I don’t like coffee, and that’s the reaction I usually get when I tell it to others. Friends forced me to try a lot of different coffee types, and I always almost spitted the precious liquid in their faces XD I really can’t stand the taste.
Her opinion on coffee shows in her personality alot. :) I love that she is literally taken aback when Osgood says she doesn’t drink that much coffee. But ah, the expressions and panel seven there are wonderful.
I feel like Gina represents about 80% of your readers just about perfectly.
Delia, you traitor. How can you not be in love with your potential caffeine addiction?
…
Oh, wait. The same way I’m not.
I am Gina. Gina is me.
we’re all Gina
I’m Gina and so’s my wife!
Also, I think this might be one of my favourite pages and I can’t quite tell why.
Got it – it’s the combination of the character backgrounds and the expressions. *sighs and stares at your art for a little bit*
I love coffee! I also don’t drink it very often because caffeine does crappy things to me, especially when I’ve been having too much of it. I’d drink decaf but nobody seems to respect decaf drinkers, so whenever I ask for some I get the most vile, horrible, oxidized crap that’s been sitting out for hours (because nobody drinks decaf). Even if it’s one of those fancy by-the-cup places, the decaf beans are ridiculously old and gross.
Decaf is also just generally made of lower quality beans (unless it’s SUPER expensive decaf) so that might be another problem there.
I’ve been out of the coffee habit for a while so I can only drink half a cup at the moment before I become a jittery mess, ha ha
Sorry, but if you’ve got a stiff pot of tea, I’ll join in for a couple mugs. Cups are for sissies.
oh gosh, between the expressions, the gestures, and the dialogue… I can hear their voices so easily aaaa
coffee to the power of sludge all the way
I’m on the side of the non-coffee drinkers. The taste reminds me of chalk, and I’d rather have tea over coffee any day of the week
chalk?? Wow, that’s nuts. Oh well, haha. I still like coffee more than tea, but I also drink a lot of tea. :D It’s generally more convenient.
And this must be Mr. Cain, popping into the cubicle apparently without coming in through the door. Why do I get the sense he’s some crazy clone of Abel, or they’re twins, or heck, maybe it’s just Abel in a fake mustache. Love this page. Love all the pages. Keep it up!
cubicles don’t have doors silly goose. :U
You know what I mean! :P
He’s not as attractive as Kevin, either.
Though it could just be the mustache.
I like Gina already!
I know I’m nitpicking, but the transition from dot eyes to your normal style from the first panel to the second is really jarring to me. I think it would be passable if the strip was in b/w, but since it’s white and black framed with the glasses and everything else is colored, it really pops out.
However the effect is absolutely perfect during the “WHHAAAAAAA”
(Well I guess this can be handwaved with the fact she really IS an anime.)
I think it’s very intriguing and skillful, the way Mr. Grundy is handling the eyes. You see how her head needs to be tilted at the right angle for us to see through the lenses at her “real” eyes? The style used to represent her eyes is based on the level of detail of her face, and also on her expression and the angle of light (IMHO.) This is a very interesting approach, and I I have full faith that Mr. Grundy will handle it masterfully!
“And tea? British people drink tea!!” She’s kinda scary.
New characters every page … awesome!
Her reaction in the last two panels = priceless.
Osgood’s fingernails are painted to match her tie. Stylin’!
Ahhhh! It feels so good when I catch up on this comic. Also I think this new character Gina should be into Doctor Who. Let’s make that cannon. (or just secret cannon) :D
Every time somebody writes ‘canon’ as ‘cannon’ I get the sudden urge to punch a baby.
…
To be fair, I get the urge to punch babies lots of times. Mostly when I’m around them, and they’re being loud.
I like how everything about Osgood’s first day of work is unpleasant. I don’t imagine it will take a long tenure at this place for her to develop some traits that aren’t too different from Schtein’s abrasiveness.
amazing! she is SO annoying. well done.
but the trasition from panel 5 to 6 kinda bugs me.
the subtle shift in perspective makes it look like delia suddenly inflated to 1.5times her size (;
I hate her already.
Oh come on, guys, you should have expected that. Delia’s BRITISH! She obviously survives on tea & danish.
Do Gina’s mannerisms remind anyone else of Phineas?
This does look a lot like the time the Doc & Phineas first met. However, she lacks that “serial killer charm” that Phineas is so proud of. I bet she didn’t make a judge throw up.
Only the look in the second panel. Aside from that, she’s 100% annoying co-worker.
Delia used to make sense to me.
Now I don’t even….
You need coffee – better drink some benzoylmethylecgonine in liquid form. It would be much healthier and better tasting to boot.
Tea is a true and only choice of gentleman and a scholar.
haha okaaaay. Beverage opinions up in here
Look at Gina hoggin up all the best faces ever.
Normally it’s one good cup of coffee for me, first thing and then herbal teas later. I do get too wired with too much caffeine, but first thing in the am that’s all good. :)
in my case, my taste buds are very sensetive so I can’t stand eating anything somewhat bitter, and coffee is VERY bitter :P
sensetive taste buds are both good and bad. It makes things that taste bad taste worse, but good things taste even better XD thus I enjoy food alot
Oh, are you a super taster? I’m glad I’m not one of those, I really enjoy bitter stuff like coffee and tea and greens.
best bittersweet dessert: green tea shave ice with red bean paste
I find coffee too bitter to like it. I like the smell however. Gina should learn to deal properly with difference.
Personally im a hot chocolate fan, stupid ppl being obsessed for coffee and tea x3
Nice page goin on, seeing the love for work here almost as much as i love my own work place,,,
When do we get to burn it down >=3?
Okay, loud Gina, I like you. Inexplicably.
Yay! A character that dislikes coffee! Someone to relate to!
Somebody needs a blow to the head.
