Looks like he got the answer he was looking for. I bet he’s a pretty OK guy.
It might just be the color of his mouth alongside the color of the background, but the only criticism I have for this entire strip is the last panel. His head seems a tad…off, somehow.
Showing a bit of black line for top-lip right above his shoulder would probably stop the effect. Cause I also just saw it as a scar but now it’s some weird mouth… curse you, guest! :)
this is really random, because there aren’t many of them in this page, but I am consistently amazed at your hand drawing ability.
So, uh, great page, as per usual.
brutalist interior decorations are pretty dumb looking, don’t tell brutalism enthusiasts I said so. They all look like insect hives that are melting. Doesn’t matter if they’re clocks or lamps or whatever. I don’t even get it.
You know, I had an interesting talk (aka phone interview) with a manager. She told me that new managers need to come in as hard-asses and either (a) maintain the hard-assed nature, or (b) soften up. I’m intrigued to see which Chauncey does. :)
Really great page–the lighting in the first panel is beautiful and I really love the textures. I’m going to have to agree that the scar does read like a mouth initially on that last panel though, even if I did figure it out pretty quick.
Also, I am so glad to have Delia back. This page just reminded me that I freaking love Delia.
Goliath from Gargoyles looks nothing like Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the frog, but they’re both voiced by Keith David. BUt yeah, now that Wrasynth has said it, I can’t unhear it…
Honestly, he actually is doing a good job, here. He’s the boss; it’s his role to make sure that nothing inappropriate happens in the workplace. By making it clear that romantic nepotism is unacceptable, he ensures that she is motivated to succeed on her own merits, and that the company’s reputation remains intact.

that’s not his mouth. It’s a scar. Oh no, is it reading as a mouth?
I knew it was a scar, but it does have kind of a really creepy smile vibe.. not complaining, but I guess that can throw people off.
yeah now I can’t unsee it. nooooooo, maybe I should edit the page

Ah, I see it as a scar now. Guess since we haven’t seen much of him yet, I didn’t really remember that he had a scar when we came onto this page.
Though that’s rather mysterious, that a business-dude has a scar like that. Wonder where he could’ve gotten in?

YEAH!!!!! SHE’S ON THE CASE!

oh, thank you! I really enjoy drawing hands. I’d have everyone gesticulating wildly in every panel but it would look maybe a little ridiculous. :D
Kudos, the ability to draw hands well is the mark of a good and proper artist!
Why doesn’t she try to strangle him? It was the way to Schtein’s heart.
I bet right about now she’s missing when her grumpy bosses couldn’t fire her :) Maybe she should drag him to lunch and fix his teleportation devices.
That is a very interesting clock on that shelf thing in panel #1.

I saw the scar right away and to me from the angle and the panel …it is creepy goodness! ilovesmethisshow!
That guy cuts a *really* intimidating figure; if I were Delia I’d be scared, but SHE IS SO BRAVE AND SMART
What? NO!
I can’t be up to the end of the archives!
This can’t be all there is for now!
Who else heard Uncle Carl from Prince of Belair?
I think you mean Uncle Phil, also he doesn’t look like him at all, wow.
